Calzemoda is a Portuguese textile company with a history dating back to 1989, founded by Cristóvão Moura, initially under the name Cristóvão Moura.
From the very beginning, the project has been linked to sock manufacturing, at a time when the market favored large volumes and more basic production, particularly in the sports socks segment.
After the passing of its founder, Cristóvão Moura, in 2001, the company’s leadership passed to his daughter, Márcia Moura, ensuring the continuity of the family project and preserving the values that have always been at its core.
The decisive step came in 2007 with the creation of Calzemoda, clearly embracing a new positioning: the production of more technical, higher-quality socks aimed at a mid-to-high-end market, under the management of José Nunes, with the support of his daughter Mariana Nunes and the continued involvement of Márcia Moura.
This evolution marked the transition from a model focused on large-scale production to an approach based on added value, technical precision, and product differentiation.
Over the years, Calzemoda has continuously invested in the innovation of its machinery and the improvement of its production processes, keeping pace with the technological evolution of the sector.
